Cut prior to the finalised production run, acetates like this were typically produced in tiny quantities for internal reference, making surviving examples exceptionally scarceand highly collectible.
Housed in a plain die-cut sleeve with period annotations to the Trident Studio label, this remarkable artefact offers a rare glimpse into the album’s pre-production stage, capturing the warm, immediate sound unique to lacquer cuts of the era. Featuring key tracks such as ‘Song Within a Song’, ‘Air Born’ and ‘Lunar Sea’, this acetate serves as a tangible piece of Camel history – the band at their creative peak, translating their melodic, atmospheric vision straight from the mixing desk.
